3 Ingredient Keto Chocolate Hazelnut Candy Balls

Prep Time: 15m

We love to make chocolate treats and bites (like our keto truffles), so if you ever want to become a keto chocolatier yourself, try these easy keto candy balls. This recipe will teach you how to form delicious hazelnut balls and dip them in melted chocolate. Once they're done, you have a keto treat you can make ahead for the whole week. If you have any last minute gifts to give or just want to treat the office, these are a great option.

These keto chocolate truffles only take three ingredients and contain absolutely no sugar alcohols. No sugar alcohols are a good thing because it means no weird tummy issues or cooling after taste. Instead, they're sweetened by the monk fruit extract in our milk chocolate hazelnut spread, so no one will believe these are actually sugar free truffles. Plus, you can totally customize what chocolate or fillings you use. Our white chocolate chips or white chocolate hazelnut spread would be a perfect swap.

So, how do you dip candy balls in chocolate? First, create the hazelnut candy balls and allow them to harden. Then, melt our chocolate either by using the microwave or one of these methods listed on our "How to Melt Sugar Free Chocolate Without Burning." After that, you're ready to dip! Make sure you have enough space to work and have plenty of paper towels. Next, use a skewer, dipping tool, or a fork and lower the candy ball into the melted chocolate. Use another fork or spoon to gently cover the ball completely with chocolate and then gently shake off any excess. It might be tempting, but don't touch the candy until the chocolate has set. Otherwise, you might smudge it! One or two of them should let you get the hang of it, and then you can be a pro chocolatier, too.

Directions

  1. Place sugar free chocolate hazelnut spread in freezer for 15 to 30 minutes
  2. Chop hazelnuts, put in small shallow bowl, set aside
  3. To create hazelnut candy balls, take chilled sugar free chocolate hazelnut spread and scoop out into balls. Then we need to chill them so we can dip them in melted chocolate. Chill balls for at least 15 minutes in freezer.
  4. Take balls out of freezer, insert 1 hazelnut into each, and roll into chopped hazelnuts. Then we’re going to harden them again, chilling them in freezer for at least 15 minutes.
  5. While balls are chilling, melt the sugar free milk chocolate chips.
  6. Use a skewer, dipping tool, or a fork and lower the candy ball into the melted chocolate. Use another fork or spoon to gently cover the ball completely with chocolate and then gently shake off any excess. It might be tempting, but don't touch the candy until the chocolate has set. Otherwise, you might smudge it!
  7. Place each ball on a lined baking sheet, and chill until chocolate coating has hardened.
