Dunkies Chocolate Mint Sandwich Cookies

Light flavor, savory mint flavor

Gluten-Free mint Oreos are my all-time favorite cookie. I was really hoping these mint dunkies would be a low-carb alternative. Sadly there is no comparison. The cookie has the potential but lacks the flavor profile. The chocolate cookie portion of the cookie is crispy but lacks the depth of chocolate flavor that Oreos have. Even store brand cookies taste better. They're so close though... They're almost there. The flavor of the mint is not the right kind of mint. These taste like the kind of mint you use to cook savory dishes. Almost on the spearmint side of mint. It's kind of bitter at times. The mint that needs to be used is confectionary peppermint. Sweet mint works too. The cookie is almost there. It just needs some adjustments. I tried adding them to ice cream to salvage them but they completely lost their identity in vanilla ice cream. Plain old vanilla overpowered them. Unfortunately, these are my least favorite cookies by ChocZero and I do not recommend them.

Compared to Oreos...

Full disclosure: I haven't had an Oreo since 2015, and missed them when I stopped eating sugar. So it has been a long time since I tasted one, and I didn't have high hopes for the Dunkies. However, the mint Dunkie is delish, perfect to dunk in coffee, and an unexpected delight. Thank you, ChocZero, for making cookies I can enjoy!
