Apple Butter

I was really trying to like this, but I just can’t do it. I was going to buy more than one, I am glad I didn’t. Maybe they will tweak this recipe a bit and it will turn out much better, making the taste buds smile!

Apple Butter is rich with apples first and foremost and there are none in this jelly consistency thick honey tasting paste with a little cinnamon to make it dark but not much flavor. It does not have the cool fruitiness of apples. One of the problems with Choc Zero jellies/jams/fruit spreads is that they are not much on fruit but lots on flavored and thickened honey flavor. the only one I consistently and regularly buy is the Orange marmalade. I've tried the Strawberry, Cherry and Grape and now apple butter. No more. Ugh, yuck sticky in my mouth not refreshing like real fruit. But, if I am going to eat Keto or you are selling a product that is Keto you really can't afford to have real fruit in it. I will continue to buy all fruit spreads and preserves.

I repeat purchase way too many Choc Zero products. This won't be a repeat purchase.

Flavor is out in left field as is the texture. I buy a lot of the jams/spreads w orange marmalade, black cherry, and strawberry being my go to favs While I could deal w the texture, I specifically dislike the overpowering odor when opening the far as well as when I take a bite the odor fills my mouth sensors - hard to explain.

I am a firm believer of buy 1 to try. But like some others noted, I was so excited to see Aople Butter I bought 2.

Choc Zero please send this one back to lab. Not looking for freebies or handouts.

Thinking might be able to swirl some if this through the topping of grandma's sour cream coffee cake (gives me an excuse to make something so bad for me...lol).

I was disappointed when I tasted it. Wasn’t expecting a jelly consistency. Not really apple butter taste. Will finish what I have but never buy again.

I was not as fan of this apple butter. It was way to thick and artificial tasting in flavor. Because of its thickness it had a gummy texture. I would not order this again. Thank you for trying, though.

I have bought Choc Zero products for years and always promote them to my other low carb friends. I was so stoked when I seen Apple Butter that I purchased 3 jars! I don’t normally do these reviews unless something is really good or really bad. Well, sorry to say but I’m trying to help you save your money on this one. This is nothing like apple butter. I would call it more of a bourbon paste. The texture is like a thick and tacky jelly. The flavor is best described as a super sweet spiced bourbon. I don’t get apple out of it at all and there’s nothing buttery smooth about it. I’m super disappointed. It won’t stop me from purchasing my fave products from Choc Zero but it will stop me from purchasing more than one before sampling as well as having such high hopes on new items until I try them out lol. Hopefully, I can find some recipes to use all this inedible product in without ruining the recipe lol! Wish me luck!
